MY TATTOOS

I've always wanted to do a YouTube video on my tattoos, thanks to watching numerous tattoo tags but 1. I don't have the lady balls to sit in front of a camera and talk to no one and 2. I have the shittiest camera going (nothing compared to a Canon or Nikon SLR). So, instead of doing a video and never posting it, I thought I'd make a blog post instead. This would be the next best thing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1(and 2):
I got Stay Strong a week after my 18th birthday. You all must be thinking "She must of got it because of Demi Lovato" and I won't lie to you; she is one of the reasons why I got this but my meanings are somewhat different to hers. My uncle passed away at the age of 33 in 2007 and I considered him one of my best friends. After his passing, I became depressed, stopped eating and just wanted to sleep all day. I didn't want to talk to anyone and I began self harming. To this day, it's still hard for me to believe that he's really gone and my tattoos are a constant reminder that I have stayed strong for almost 7 years and I am capable to staying strong for more years to come.
Pain: 2/5

3:
My third tattoo I got on the back of my neck, not even two months after I got my first two. I'm completely hooked on getting tattooed now! I got the Om symbol on the back of my neck not only to symbolise my appreciation for the Buddhist culture but to represent as described on most websites "the vibration to ensure existence".
Pain: 2/5

4:
My next tattoo was very impulsive. One day after college I decided I wanted to get a tattoo behind my left ear. I got a feather and although it has no meaning behind it, I love the way it looks.
Pain: 0/5

5:
Again, another impulse tattoo but something I had been planning to get for a while. Whilst shopping on Oxford Street, my friend decided to get a feather tattooed behind her ear and after she got hers done, I decided to get the lyric: "Can you be my nightingale?" tattooed on my ribcage. Although it's ultimately a Demi Lovato lyric, I adore the song and I got it in memory of my uncle.
Pain: 3/5

6:
I got a traditional black and grey rose on the back of my arm, which might sound butch but it actually looks quite feminine. This tattoo was the start of my sleeve which I'm hoping to have done by the end of next year (hopefully).
Pain: 3/5

7:
My anchor was my 7th tattoo which I got as matching tattoo with my sister basically symbolising the strong bond we have.
Pain: 2/5

8:
The Roman numerals I got on my wrist is my mum's birth year. I didn't want to get the actual number because it would have looked completely ridiculous and I don't think my mum would have appreciated my basically displaying her age on my arm forever.
Pain: 2/5

9:
Possibly one of my favourite tattoos! I had my wolf done on Valentine's Day (my tattoo artist that day was basically my Valentine - thanks Brad!) I got him to represent who I am - I'm a little bit of a lone wolf. And I named him Lawrence after Lawrence Talbot in The Wolfman so, I don't know, you could say it's me paying homage to films as well?
Pain: 3.5/5

10:
Another favourite of mine! I got my gypsy head done in one sitting (5 hours!) I was going to get some colour but I decided against it as I want a traditional black and grey sleeve (with the exception of Lawrence's eyes).
Pain: 3/5 (but went to a 4 during the last hour)

11:
My most recent tattoo is of a mandala on my calf and my god this one hurt! Unfortunately it didn't heal well - my body didn't really agree with the thick lines in the tattoo so one day I will gave to get it touched up but other than that, I think it looks beautiful. And it was done by one of my favourite tattoo artists in the world! (The reason why I haven't posted a proper picture is because of the colour at the bottom - just have a look at it pre-healed)

I hope anyone who read this post enjoyed, feel free to comment on anything, let me know what tattoos you have or want to get & let me know what you would like to see in new blog posts! I want to start blogging regularly now that I've finished my second year of Uni!
