HAIR CARE (KIND OF!)

I'm not one to post about beauty related products and anything to do with haircare. Long story short, I can be quite lazy when it comes to my hair. But recently, I went to my local Boots and found three products that have done wonders for my hair!

I had been using the VO5 Smoothly Does It shampoo and conditioner for quite some time but I decided it was time to try out some new products to use in the shower. Boots are currently having a 3 for 2 offer in the Toni & Guy range so I decided to have a look. Needless to say, I walked out with a few things...

I decided to say goodbye to VO5 (I still love the brand, don't get me wrong!) and went for a brand that I've wanted to try out for years and so far, I'm pretty stoked on how smooth and healthy this combination has made my hair after I've washed it! I'm not going to lie, I did pick up this bottle of shampoo because the design was pretty but it does a bloody good job!

Once I've blow-dried and straightened my hair (which is a rarity as I love to wear my hair natural), I squeeze 2-3 drops of this serum (also from the Toni & Guy range) into the palm of my hand and work it through the lengths and ends of my hair and again, it's made my hair incredibly soft. So far, there's no signs of grease or extra oils seeping through. It just makes your hair look and feel so much healthier!

The shampoo and conditioner are priced at £6.49 and the serum is quite expensive (especially for how small the bottle is) at £7.49 however, they're well worth the investment. And with Boots' 3 for 2 offer at the moment, you get either the shampoo or conditioner for free! What's not to love?!

ONE WORD: SASS

I am literally obsessed with my new leopard print Vans! And I feel so sassy in them. Especially if I'm wearing a plain outfit to go along with them.

There isn't much to say about this pair of Vans except that they are FABULOUS! But if you want to pick up a pair, I suggest you get your butt onto office.co.uk and order a pair! They've been reduced to £28 from £56 and I was lucky enough to get a pair in my size for half price!

These shoes are part of the Classic Era and although they take some time to wear in, they're now extremely comfortable!

OOTD: TOPSHOP AND HAIR!

Someone seriously needs to take my purse away from me...
Today I went with my sister and niece into town. My niece was getting her hair cut and had an appointment at the opticians and my sister asked me to tag along.

In the morning it was freezing(!!) so as soon as we stepped off the bus, I rushed straight to Topshop (I know, I'm an idiot). Needless to say, I found something that I had to have - I've had my eye on it for ages and I just thought, why the heck not!?!

And while my niece was getting her hair done at Rush Hair, I made the impromptu decision to get my own hair cut - I desperately needed it done! I just asked my hairdresser for layers and to have it thinned.

The top/jumper I bought in Topshop is this gorgeous speckled grey colour and it's incredibly soft! At £36 (£32.40 with 10% student discount), it's one of my favourite buys this month.

I wore my black Jonis from Topshop and my checkered pumps (also from Topshop). I was a walking ad for the store today.

I feel like Claire Marshall with this hair!

SUNDAY SHOPPING

I have a serious problem.... But I don't want to deal with it... I blame my mum.

Today my mum and I decided to go into town for a little retail therapy. I felt very inspired by Kylie Jenner and of course, Tumblr when it came to picking out my outfit for the day and as the weather was a little cooler than it has been this summer, I thought it was time for the Dr Martens to make their way back into my life. I think it's safe to say my life now feels complete again.
I paired my Dr Martens with my favourite shirt from Topman, which I got just under a year ago, my Topshop jeggings and my new 'We Built This City On Bacon Rolls' tee from The Breakfast Club. Yes, not only do I eat at the cafe, I also buy their merchandise.. What can I say, I'm obsessed.

Of course, my outfit wouldn't have been complete without a backpack so, I put the look together by adding my new New Look backpack which I should have been saving for my trip to Amsterdam in October but I couldn't resist.

SHIRT (similar)
T-SHIRT (I think it's only available in The Breakfast Club)

OOTN: FAMILY, FOOD & RHYTHM AND BLUES

Wait a minute... I'm actually wearing a dress!?! It's pretty rare that I actually go out showing off my legs but yesterday, I felt like dressing up for this occasion. I got this dress in the Topshop sale a few months ago for just £18. Bargain! My aunt was throwing a little garden party and since I haven't seen my mum's side of the family in AGEEEEEES, I decided to tag along. And of course, I knew the food would be phenomenal as I'm a quarter Seychellois (Google it).

I didn't want to look too put together so I paired my dress (from the tall section in Topshop) with my hi top Converse of course. The dress is literally the softest item of clothing in my wardrobe and it actually makes me look tanned which is a bonus!
For my hair, I had just watched Tanya Burr's Cara Delevingne inspired hair tutorial on YouTube and decided to give it a go and I think it came out pretty good. (Thanks Tanya and Cara for the inspiration!)

Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna try and get out of this food coma...

OOTD: A TOUCH OF DISNEY

Praise the Gods for opening up the heavens and unleashing what looked like at least a week's worth of rainfall today! It gave me a good excuse to finally get out my ASOS sweatshirt that I talked about in my last blog post, which I have been dying to style since the package arrived last Friday!
The way I've styled it isn't too fancy - I'd much rather wear a pair of jeans and converse if I'm only running errands. Today I had to pop to the Post Office to send off some clothes I sold on DEPOP.

The colours on the sweatshirt are absolutely gorgeous! The purple to pink gradient compliments Ariel's envious red hair and she pretty much covers the entire front of the sweatshirt. It just gives off that girly vibe without being over the top. I was actually pretty impressed with myself when I ordered it because I'm usually all about the 'black on black' trend. Black is everything!

I paired it with my all time favourite blue Joni jeans from Topshop and my white hi top Converse that I can't get enough of. I kind of went for an 80's vibe by turning my jeans up so you could see a little of my leg between the Joni's and Converse. And I just added my Marc by Marc B bag from Topshop - it's the bag I always carry around with me. I think it's time to invest in a new one.

ASOS: CHILD AT HEART

A few weeks ago, I was doing a little window shopping on ASOS (as always). I have some money left from my grant at uni along with my wages so a splurge was needed. Anyway, I came across this sweatshirt that I knew I HAD to have!
The Little Mermaid is one of my all time favourite Disney movies but when it comes to purchasing merchandise, I always feel a little silly but, I saw a picture of Elle Fanning in the July issue of ASOS magazine and she looked stunning!

I haven't had the chance to style it as the weather in London's been pretty impressive but, I thought to myself, why not start buying staple and bold pieces for when I start my third year at university? I'd seen this product before on the site but decided against it as I thought I wouldn't wear it as much as I would like to but, I had a change of heart and had the sudden urge to purchase it. Luckily for me, I think I ordered the last size 12!
I kind of wish I ordered it in a size 14 as the fit is quite snug and as I'm short, I think oversized jumpers suit my body a lot more than those that are quite fitted - especially around the waist. But hey, it gives me a good reason to tone and lose weight, right? ;)

Price wise, I was actually quite chuffed when I discovered that it was only £30, as most sweatshirts (or any other Little Mermaid merchandise for that matter) are often expensive as they have to be shipped from the US - which SUCKS! Let's just hope ASOS keep up with Disney themed clothes.

It's sold out right now but should it come back in stock: Sweatshirt

Once I've styled this piece with a few items, I will be posting a mini 'lookbook'. I want my blog to start looking like a proper fashion blog, if you catch my drift!

THE BREAKFAST CLUB

Last night, my sister and I went to see Blink 182 at O2 Academy Brixton (which was amazing!!) but beforehand, we decided to go to The Breakfast Club in Clapham for some pre-show late late breakfast. I've been there before (in both Clapham and Soho) and really enjoyed it and this experience was indifferent.

I went for my usual pancakes & bacon with maple syrup while my sister went for the All American Pancakes and with this being her first time at the restaurant, she was a little skeptical despite my constant praise and admiration for the place. We ordered the large nachos to start which were absolutely divine and was just the right portion to share. My pancakes & bacon were as always [in the Clapham branch anyway] incredible. My sister's dish was to die for! I think I ate most of her home-style fried potatoes though... (sorry sis!)

I also ordered my favourite drink Iced Tea with mint and lemon and it was perfect! (Apologies for my appearance - there's no point in getting dressed up if you're gonna sweat it out at a concert, is there?)

Unlike the Soho branch, where it was packed and slow service, the Clapham staff are so much friendlier and the food is ten times better - my pancakes weren't burnt! If anything, this will be the only branch I go to when I fancy breakfast for dinner (which is everyday!) But then again, I've still got a few more branches to try!

Have you been to The Breakfast Club before? What was your experience like?
